Seoul/Tel Aviv, December 2022. Hyundai Motor Company announced that its hydrogen-powered heavy-duty XCIENT Fuel Cell truck will enter Israel, its first Middle East market, to establish a hydrogen value chain in the region.
Hyundai Motor Company has supplied three XCIENT fuel cell trucks to Israel as part of a partnership between its Israeli agency Kolmobil, hydrogen manufacturer Bazan and hydrogen filling station operator Sonol to build a hydrogen value chain in Israel. The three heavy trucks will be delivered to Kolmobil, Bazan and Sonol, respectively, and will enter commercial operation in the first quarter of 2023.
The launch event took place in Tel Aviv, and was attended by Shmuel Harlap, president of Kolmobil, Asaf Almagor, CEO of Bazan, and Nir Galili, CEO of Sonol.
The first vehicle to be used for commercial operation in the Middle East is an XCIENT Fuel Cell 4×2 truck delivered to Kolmobil, equipped with a 180 kW hydrogen fuel cell system that can travel over 400 km on a single charge.
