South Korea’s leading automaker Hyundai has today officially introduced its cheapest micro SUV Casper. This is the smallest SUV in the company’s global portfolio, which will be launched in the Indian market after the South Korean market.
Experts believe that the company may introduce it under a different name in the Indian market, as Hyundai does with many of its models, in which the same car is offered under different names in different markets. However, this thing will be revealed soon, let’s know about this new micro SUV which will directly compete with Tata Punch after coming in the market.
The company has given this micro SUV a boxy design, which completely defines the name of this car. According to the company’s traditional cars, split LED headlamps, LED daytime running lights, circular headlamps in its front make the front look of this car even more attractive. Talking about the side profile, it gets squared off wheel arch with roof rails and stylis dual-tone alloy wheels.
Some revelations have been made in the media report regarding the size of this car. According to which the length of this SUV can be 3,595mm, width 1,595mm and height can be 1,575mm. However, no official confirmation has been made about it yet. If we look at this size, it will be slightly shorter in length than the Santro hatchback, which has a length of 3,610mm, but the height of this SUV will be higher than the Santro. The Santro is only 1,560mm high.
According to the information, the company will use two petrol engines with a capacity of 1.0 liter in the Casper. One of which will be naturally aspirated and the other will be a turbo engine. The naturally aspirated engine will come with 76hp power and 4 speed automatic gearbox while the turbo engine will generate 100hp power and will also be offered with a 4 speed transmission gearbox. The same engine has also been used in the Hyundai Venue.
Launch report in India:
Hyundai will first introduce this micro SUV in South Korea, after which it will be launched in the Indian market. It is believed that the company can offer it for sale by next year. It is reported that the price of this SUV can be under Rs 5 lakh and after coming in the market, this car competes with the recently introduced models like Tata Punch, Kiger and Magnite.
