The peak and license plate on Wednesday, September 27, applies to license plates with numbers 4 and 6. In the case of cars, the ban takes place based on the last number of the license plate, while for motorcycles it is based on the rest of the first digit.
The move will start operating at 5am and anyone with a badge and license plate will only be able to get around again after 8pm. Failure to comply with this prohibition, it should be noted, can lead to fines up to $ 580,000 and even the immobilization of the car.
For yellows, the taxi service, inactivity and non-compliance can generate the same penalties. This Wednesday, the plates that end at 9 will not be able to circulate. The only difference with other cars is that the peak starts around 6 in the morning and not at 5.
The traffic authorities of any of the ten municipalities of the Aburrá Valley, namely, Envigado, Itagüí, Caldas, La Estrella, Sabaneta, Medellín, Bello, Copacabana, Girardota and Barbosa, are authorized to issue penalties in this regard , because the measure was approved by all localities.
The ban does not include exempt roads, except in rural areas of municipalities which, in the case of Medellín, correspond to five municipalities: San Sebastián de Palmitas, San Antonio de Prado, Altavista, San Cristóbal and Santa Elena.
For this second half of the year, vehicles that take care of emergencies and personal or home health are still not included; those operating with fuel gas of any of the typologies established by Law 2128 of 2021; electric or hybrid; those for special transportation, food and/or perishable items and public forces, etc.
Remember that this Wednesday there will be demonstrations in the city that will be called by the National Government. Most of these will be concentrated in the city center, between 8 am and noon. So schedule your outings on time.
