Since WhatsApp has introduced invitation links for groups in Spain, many have complained about the problem it involves in terms of privacy. And this is why this invitation, once established, allowed almost anyone to join, without any necessity, the group in question. Whatsapp is finally enabling manual request approval option for all users.
That is, administrators can now manually allow someone to enter or disallow a group. New member approvals will mean that in order for users to continue abusing these invite links, they will have to go through manual user approval.
This is an option that is already activated for both iOS and WhatsApp users, and can be found in the settings of your members as long as you are their administrator. After this is done, anyone who wants to join said group will have to be approved by the administrator.
manual approval
Within the WhatsApp group settings, a message will appear for administrators that says: “Test new members”. As WhatsApp explains, when this option works “administrators must approve anyone who wants to join the group”.
At that point, when someone tries to invite a group to join the link, they ask to join; not directly as before. In the group, a message will appear informing the administrators that there is a user who wants to join the group, and a new section “pending participants” will appear. The user can deny or approve.
New WhatsApp option Manuel Fernández Omicrono
This innovation, which was already present in Whatsapp Communities, since it is the task of managing large groups of users within the community space, was used to increase security and prevent unwanted users from secretly chatting in the middle of groups.
In case it did not appear, the best thing you can do is force update WhatsApp as it appears. On Android, just go to the Google Play Store and click on profile, then click on application updates. On iOS, you need to go to the App Store, click on your profile and tap on the menu to force updates.
