Alfa Romeo used everything for Checo Pérez.
After several weeks of rumors indicating the possible premature departure of Checo Pérez from Red Bull, after an irregular 2023, Alfa Romeo has assured that the Mexican is a strong option to join its team.
Alessandro Alunni Bravi, head of Alfa Romeo, assured that Checo Pérez is one of his good options to join the team, because they consider him an elite driver and one of the best on the grid.
Alunni Bravi was serious and admitted that if it was up to him, Checo would come to Alfa Romeo tomorrow.
Checo will end his contract with Red Bull in 2024, but according to reports the Mexican will not guarantee his stay with the Austrian team until the end of his contract.
“He is one of the Top drivers. It’s an option and if it was me I would bring it tomorrow (to the team). He is strong, elite and an option, but no one should be rejected.
“For me there is growth in Mexican motorsport. You have karting, events at Hermanos Rodríguez, in Puebla, good sponsors like Telmex and there is Sergio Pérez, who is already a hero (and inspiration),” said the director of Alfa Romeo.

“We spoke with Christian Horner in this interval between Free Test 1 and the second. We were told that the first practice was quite positive for both parts of the garage,” said our AHR reporter during the broadcast.
“We asked how true it is that Checo’s continuation will depend on him securing the runner-up in the world and Horner told us verbatim: ‘I don’t know where or how that (rumor) started, but it’s not indeed, it is not a necessity for him to keep your seat'”.
