Innovation in the Spanish company, the axis of the debate at the La Granda courses, held for the first time outside the aviles in Luanco

Yesterday, innovation and competition among Spanish companies became the debate on the second day of courses in La Granda, which left Aviles to visit the Luanco Maritime Museum for the first time, where there was an attentive and relatable flow of economic and technical conditions . In an effort to make companies aware of the technological importance, the challenges and challenges initiated by experts were the protagonists.

The president of the courses, Benigno Pendas García, recognized that “we live in interesting times that must be faced” and believed that a society in Spain was “prepared to do so”.

Pendas expressed “satisfaction on maintaining this course, which will remain a classic” and described the La Granda course as “an intellectual adventure that will continue to succeed with the help of all”.

«To tackle innovation, you need political will and planning decisions and, later, money”

The participation of José Molero, Emeritus Professor of Economics at Complutense University in Madrid, was well received by the audience. Inspired by his presence, attendees discussed innovation, competition and the future, with a particular focus on technological sovereignty. “It’s about knowing whether a country’s industrial future can be considered when a fundamental part of technology is not controlled,” he told this newspaper.

Although he was born outside the principality, Molero declared himself a “convinced Asturian” and insisted that the community “should participate in this debate because of its entire past, especially because of its industrial past. ” This economist, who said he surrounded himself with friends who knew too much to attend the course, said in his presentation that “if companies don’t innovate, they don’t exist”. . In this sense, he stressed that Spanish sectors such as construction and tourism are “overloaded and this leaves us vulnerable in a crisis situation.”

For Jose Molero, the issue of technical sovereignty is “not an index but a concept, so it is a problem with many derivatives, although we do not have a sovereignty meter to measure it.” What he raised is “an absolute necessity for public administration, European, Spanish and Asturian, in addition to companies, to find out that we are playing it if we are not able to control technology any more.” In his opinion, “that’s how we’ve seen it with the pandemic, that we lack everything.”

Speaking to this newspaper, he said that “a prescription cannot be given” in favor of this control, but rather “you have to preserve what you have and try not to be obsolete with respect to new technologies.”

On whether rush is good or unnecessary to address this technical issue, he said that “this is not an emergency, it is something that has been discussed for ten years”, although the pandemic and conflict in Ukraine “make it too crude”, but «we do not bring this issue to La Granda for this reason, although it highlights the vulgarity of not having chips, for example, control of chips, because Europe manufactures them does not do”. To deal with this situation, in his opinion, “requires political will and decision, planning and then money, because if we start with only money, it may even be bad because you have to be clear about what it is going to be used for”.

José Molero conceded that Spain “could not be autonomous in all its techniques, but, “between autocracy and relying heavily on everything, such as masks, is a staggering matter that each country must see, ” They said.
