In the morning conference at the National Palace, López Obrador explained that this social security system will guarantee access to health for Mexicans.
“We will leave a health system for those without social security, for the poorest, which is like half of Mexicans. This is the IMSS-Wellness system, what we want before the end is to guarantee the right to health, that whoever gets sick can be treated, have medicine, everything they need, not just the so-called basic treatment, that they can all do. the studies, that they can intervene through surgery,” he said.
“Guaranteeing the right to health, regardless of the economic or social status of the people, is a challenge, a commitment that we will fulfill,” he said.
We have a goal by March next year, about 10 thousand health centers or medical units and about 700 hospitals will be operating, he explained.
The Mexican president explained that, “even though the conservatives are joking,” there is a public health system “better than Denmark” and that it can also be an “example to the world”.
“We will report it and it will be a first-class service, even if the conservatives joke and say that it will not be like Denmark, and no, it will not be like Denmark, because Denmark’s. serves a little population, Denmark has fewer inhabitants,” he said.
That’s why ours is better than Denmark. This will be a global example, the right to health is not guaranteed anywhere,” he said.
