Bogota will have Latin America’s tallest and fastest magnetic propulsion roller coaster. With an investment of over 50,000 million pesos, the assembly of the first piece of the roller coaster was announced, the only one of its kind, which will have a length of 263 meters and a maximum speed of 100 km/h.
Worldwide, there are only ten mountains of this style, located in important cities around the world, which is why high-impact attractions with these features have been of great importance to Colombia.
The engineers who carried out the work estimate that by the month of August thousands of Colombians will be able to enjoy this extreme attraction. Salitre Mágico, the tallest and fastest roller coaster in Latin America, will be located in the park and will be able to serve at least 600 people per hour.
Description of Fastest Roller Coaster
The tallest and fastest magnetic propulsion roller coaster in Latin America, manufactured by Premiere Rides, a worldwide leader in this type of attraction, has a top speed of 100 km/h.
The attraction is 47.5 meters high, has a length of 263 meters, and at its highest angle makes an inversion that turns everyone upside down.
Installation began on May 17 and is expected to be completed in August, the month in which the official opening will take place.
Are There Risks on the Fastest Roller Coasters?
Nestor Bermudez, director of Salitre Magic, indicated that having these features is a milestone as there are only 10 in the world.
It’s a roller coaster on a par with the United States, Europe, China and Saudi Arabia, Bermudez assured.
Regarding the risks of accidents, he said that “this type of technology implies redundancy at the safety level, with very robust systems that minimize the possibilities of risk.”
He also indicated that these types of attractions require daily maintenance and a system that allows them to be linked in real time with the creator. It has two support centers, one in Germany and one in the United States, so you know exactly how it’s doing.
