Bangalore: Karnataka has been given a maximum of 12,04,402 vaccinations a day, keeping pace with the vaccination campaign against corona. The vaccine was given on Wednesday.
“The state government has set a target of 10 lakh vaccinations across the state. However, the health department, district administration, Greater Bangalore Metropolitan Pali (BBMP) and the public have volunteered to vaccinate beyond the target,” the health minister said.
The government is planning special operations in the state to control the danger of Covid and as a precautionary measure against the third wave.
He added, “12,04,402 vaccinations have been given in the state which is the highest in the country. The government has planned a special drive to vaccinate 10 lakh Kovids every Wednesday.”
A total of 1,85,488 people were vaccinated at the BBMP border (Bangalore city and surrounding areas). The highest number of vaccinations was given in Belagavi district, where 99,983 were vaccinated.
Kodagu district had the lowest number of vaccinations. Less than 20,000 vaccines have been recorded in Yadgir and Chamrajnagar districts. Sudhakar said more than 20,000 vaccines have been administered in 227 districts.
He said the districts of Chikkaballapur (50,000), Chikkamagalur (000,000), Mandia (0002,000) and Mysore (51,000) have performed well in vaccination.
He added, “The vaccination drive in the state has been accelerated and the target of five lakh doses per day will be achieved. The state has given the level of 1.12 crore covid vaccines till August.”
