Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said on Saturday that the state government has set up 85 vaccination centers in the seven most affected districts for immunization of people under the age group of 18-44.

The seven districts which have the highest positivity rates and active cases include Lucknow, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Bareilly, Kanpur and Meerut.

Yogi Adityanath said, “A total of 2,500 centers have started Phase 3 vaccination today for 45 + people.” We have also introduced vaccination for the 18+ age group and include seven districts where positivity rates and active cases are highest. 85 different centers have been set up for Lucknow, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Gorapur, Bareilly, Kanpur and Meerut, 18+. ”

He said, “In the next five days, vaccination will be done in these 85 centers in seven districts. After this, all other districts will be vaccinated. We have decided to give free vaccines to people between 18-44 years old. The center is giving free vaccine to people above 45 years of age. ”

The state government, which decided to vaccinate all people above the age of 18 for free, on Thursday decided to issue a tender to purchase four to five crore doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Yogi said, “The state government has decided to issue tenders to carry out the vaccination campaign effectively. Serum Institute of India and Bharat Biotech have been ordered to have 5 million vaccine doses each. Four to five vaccine doses A global tender for purchase should also be called for. It should be carried forward. ”

Additional Chief Secretary, Health, Amit Mohan Prasad said that so far more than 1.23 crore vaccine doses have been given in the state. This includes 1.01 crore people who have taken the first dose and more than 22.33 lakh who have also taken the second dose.
