The fifth T20 match between India and South Africa was called off due to rain in Bengaluru on Sunday. Only 3.3 overs were bowled in the match and in that period, India managed to post 28/2 with both Ishan Kishan and Ruturaj Gaikwad. However, more than the cricketing action, it was an incident involving Gaikwad that made headlines, and left netizens furious.
The incident took place during the rain break when Gaikwad was sitting in the dugout.
A video of the groundsman trying to take a selfie with the batsman has gone viral. Just then Gaikwad was seen asking the groundsman to keep his distance and then he looked the other way.

Those defending Rituraj Gaikwad must understand that groundmen are also safe from COVID.
Clearly Rituraj doesn’t deserve to play at the highest level. Shameful.

Ruturaj Gaikwad insulting the groundsman. This arrogance and attitude is very bad man. Learn to respect people first.
And there is no bio bubble in this series.

Match no. 5
Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore
Match delayed due to rainAfter all, why is Ruturaj Gaikwad behaving like this with the ground staff? Arrogance is being made towards him just for a selfie. This kind of behavior is really unacceptable in the gentlemen’s game. pic.twitter.com/A1sjqnMQu7
