India backs China’s plan for joint border activity

India has supported an initiative by China for all SCO (Shanghai Cooperation Organization) member states, including Russia, Pakistan and Central Asian countries, to conduct “joint border operations” in 2023. A Border Security Force (BSF) statement said that a border operation called “Solidarity-2023” will be conducted by China.

The plan for preparation and conduct of Joint Border Operation “Maitree Seema – 2022″ this year was reviewed and approved,” it said.

It said the participants approved the action plan of the Group of Experts on Border Services of SCO Member States for 2023 and discussed proposals on the location and time of the next meeting of the Heads of Border Services.

“They noted that the professional exchange of ideas and the development of common positions on the organization’s borders to counter new challenges and threats will contribute to the further development of cooperation between the border services of the competent authorities of the SCO Member States, strengthen To do security and trust at the borders,” it said.
