India Biotech is supplying vaccines directly to these 18 states

New Delhi: Bharat Biotech said it would continue its steady supply of COVID-19 vaccine covaccine. The company said that since May 1, vaccines have been supplied directly to 18 states.

The Hyderabad-based firm said that these states include Andhra Pradesh, Delhi, Bihar, Gujarat, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal.

Bharat Biotech said in a tweet, “Since May 1, COVAXIN has been directly supplied to 18 states. In our efforts, we will continue to supply the vaccine continuously.”

The company is supplying its vaccines to Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Gujarat, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Tripura, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal. .

The company’s joint managing director Suchitra Ela had earlier said that Bharat Biotech has started direct supply of COVAXIN from May 1 on the basis of allocations received by the central government to several states.

On 29 April, Bharat Biotech announced a price reduction of COVAXIN for the states, reducing it from Rs 600 per dose to Rs 400 per dose earlier. This was followed by widespread criticism of its pricing policy, as it sold COVAXIN to the central government at 150 per dose.

India has expanded its COVID-19 vaccination drive to allow its larger 18-44-year-old population to vaccinate from 1 May.
