Indian people dominate in America, Biden appointed Kiran Ahuja as head of Personal Management Office

New Delhi : The dominance of Indian diaspora in America is increasing continuously. President Joe Biden appointed Indian-American lawyer and rights activist Kiran Ahuja as the head of the Office of Personal Management. 49-year-old Kiran Ahuja will become the first Indian-American to serve at the top position in the US government as soon as President Biden’s decision is approved by the Senate.

Kiran Ahuja’s nomination was announced by the White House on Tuesday. With this, Kiran Ahuja has now joined the club of 20 Indian Americans nominated to senior positions in the Biden administration.

In fact, the Office of Personal Management oversees the civil service of the US Federal Government. The personal department works to recruit government employees. Manages their health insurance and retirement benefit programs. Ahuja served as Chief of Staff at OPM in the administration of former President Barack Obama.

Kiran Ahuja of Indian origin grew up in Savannah, Georgia. Ahuja holds a bachelor’s degree from Spellman College in Atlanta. With a law degree from the University of Georgia, Ahuja began his career as a civil rights lawyer at the US Department of Justice.

Kiran Ahuja has also served as the Chief of Staff for the Director in the US Office of Personnel Management from 2015 to 2017. Ahuja also has more than two decades of experience leading public service and the non-profit / philanthropic sector.
