Autonomous communities, the main associations of the automotive sector, several unions, universities, technology centers and different ministries (Industry, Finance, Economy, Science, Education and Transport) joined yesterday to create a partnership that facilitates the arrival of new investments in the choice of cars. This public-private partnership is part of the Strategic Plan for the Recovery and Economic Transformation of Electric and Connected Vehicles (PERTE VEC) and was signed yesterday in Madrid.
As explained by Juan Carlos Aguilera, director general of Industria de Asturias and electronically present, “this company was born to support the objectives of PERTEVC”, which mainly consists of “the creation of the necessary ecosystem for the development and the complete manufacture of vehicles. electric and for the network. With this with the cooperation “synergies will be identified”, support programs will be monitored and projects will be proposed to improve Spain’s industrial situation in the electrification of the automobile,” he added.
It should be noted that PERTEVEC has a contribution of 4295 million from public funds and, according to the ministry, “calls that approximately 2.069 million has already been issued, which is about 50 million of funds”. In this context, and as an addition by the Minister of Industry Reyes Maroto, the financing of ten tractor projects has already been approved with close to 800 million in cash.
In his opinion, “this PERTE has become a fundamental tool to promote the reintroduction and make Spain a global test in the new model of mobility”. He therefore wanted to highlight two aspects: firstly, how the country “is the focus of attraction for new investment with two gigafactories of batteries in the Community of Valencia and Extremadura, secondly in” the commitment to the electrification of our production centers.
1,304 million to companies
In this first call PERTE, 1,304 million of cash was sent to the companies, according to what Aguilera said at the end of the meeting. Now they are working again on what, in Marotum’s words, “will expand and improve their space.” “The Asturian industry, especially that which is already in the automotive value chain, has a new opportunity,” added the director general of the Principality Industry. “Regional companies that are already suppliers of key brands will have an opportunity for growth”, he emphasized after “PERTE favors attracting investment in the production of existing industrial links.”
However, he also wanted to recall that the new call “with new conditions that include more flexibility and longer mortifications, offers opportunities to present individual projects”. And support for this type of enterprise “can promote diversification and investment in new industrial activity.”
From his point of view, companies in Asturias can find a differentiating factor due to the industrial culture existing in the region, the availability of land and human and material resources. Labor is one of the points that put Asturias in a more than successful position for BYD, one of the largest manufacturers of electric cars together with Tesla, to decide to locate one of its European plants in the region. Pronouncing EL COMERCIO, the community is interested in launching this type at a time marked by the sectorial impact of PERTE.
