Officials of Argentinian company Industria Metalúrgica Sud América (IMSA), a partner of CTC Global, informed the Minister of Industry and Commerce (MIC), Luis Castiglioni, of the decision to set up a factory for high-efficiency electrical conductors for transmission. Paraguay of Energy.
In this line, the commercial manager of the above industry, Fernando Kaufmann, together with the directors of the CTC Global company, went to the MIC for a working meeting with Minister Castiglioni.
At the end of the meeting, Kaufmann confirmed the progress of the project which aims to supply both the local and the rest of the region with high-tech manufactured products for transmission lines.
“We came to inform the minister that we have taken a firm decision, and we are moving ahead with our project, to set up a high efficiency conductor factory locally for a power transmission line,” said the company executive. .
As for the market of interest, the director of the electrical conductor company said it is the entire region, and includes Paraguay, MERCOSUR and the rest of South American countries.
“In the first instance, we see that Paraguay is a leader in implementation in the adoption of this type of technology for transmission lines; But we also see growing demand in other countries like Brazil, Chile, Colombia. The purpose of this factory is to supply both local needs and those of the rest of the South American region”, he said.
Referring to the progress in setting up industry, he remarked that they have set up a company, and that they have begun to comply with all administrative and formal requirements.
“We are targeting to start work to build our factory in the middle of the year. Our estimate is that this is a job that will take nine or twelve months until we can be productive. With which, in the middle of 2024 we estimate that we can roll out the first meters of national cable construction,” he said.

With regard to the development of the work, the company manager mentioned that the project will be carried out in four phases, and in the first phase, it will allow them to triple the productive capacity that currently exists in the area.
“We are going to establish in Paraguay double the capacity for this type of conductor that is currently in Argentina. Our goal is to establish a national company with Paraguayan labor”, he explained.
On the other hand, he highlighted the welcome he received in the country, being able to set up the factory and operate from here, an attitude that was manifested in all the conversations he had with MIC and Radix.
“We have pending talks with Andy, who has expressed great interest for them in this type of strategic product, and which can be manufactured nationally. We are very optimistic, and we see a long way in relation to this project”, he assured.
