Information from the Mexican Embassy in Cuba on consular appointments

Last minute information from the Mexican Embassy in Cuba reports the closure of this consular headquarters and changes in consular appointments. More details below.

The Mexican consulate in Havana is currently in the process of changing its venue. For this reason, those responsible decided to postpone several appointments that had already been made. Essentially, those who already had appointments are being canceled and are now being given new appointments.

A new Mexican consulate has been opening in Havana since the end of 2022 in order to modernize the care for Mexican compatriots living on the island. Another purpose is to optimize the services to the Cuban community as indicated on the official website.

The Consulate of Mexico has now reported the following via its Twitter account:

“As of Monday, September 17, 2023, the Consulate of Mexico in Havana will remain CLOSED until further notice. If you have an appointment scheduled in these days, please check your emails, which will inform you of the new date of your appointment. Emergency number for Mexicans: +535286-9620″.

An applicant for notarization of documents stated that he had switched from September 11 to September 26 of the same month. The Mexican consulate has now confirmed to him by email that the same schedule as the first reserved appointment will be maintained. A similar thing appears to have happened to many others interested in conducting procedures at the embassy.

The recommendation of the Mexican embassy in Cuba is that all people who have appointments during these days check their emails. This way they can find out if their specific case has been rescheduled the same way or if it keeps the same original date.

Change of moving date

The notifications already sent to the persons affected by the change of date do not require any further information. However, it seems to indicate that the changes in appointments will coincide with the days when officials at diplomatic headquarters will make the move.

It is estimated that all consular processes will resume at the new headquarters before the end of the current month of September. The Aztec diplomats confirmed that the consulate was no longer at Calle 12, No. 518 esq. will be. 7th Ave. Reparto Miramar, Municipality of Playa, Havana. The new address is Calle 18, No. 507, between 5th and 7th, also in Miramar, Playa.

For the time being, the Diplomatic Headquarters recommends its users and people interested in using its services to be aware of all the information.

As expected, the moving process should be quick, any subsequent changes will be announced on their official website and their X account, formerly Twitter.
