A poster, purportedly of Ranbir Kapoor in his look from his upcoming film Shamshera, has been doing the rounds across the internet since Saturday. The poster shows Ranbir holding an ax in a long flowing beard. In the poster, Ranbir is seen in a tattered look with long hair and a beard while looking at the camera while holding a large axe. The text below says Shamshera: Karam se dacoit, dharma se azaad (dacoit by profession, free by nature). Ranbir had delivered these lines in the official teaser of the film released in February. Ranbir reportedly plays a dacoit in Karan Malhotra and according to him, the look is on point. However, the film’s production house Yash Raj Films is yet to comment on the alleged leak.
The picture was shared by many of Ranbir’s fan clubs on Twitter and Instagram. One fan wrote, “Wow, this is mind blowing.” Another said, “Shamshera is going to be a revival of big Bollywood films.” Many fans commented on how far this look is from Ranbir’s usual ‘chocolate boy’ look. One comment read, “I always guessed if Ranbir, who has a chocolate boy type pamper, is able to mold himself as a dacoit.. but it feels so real. He has inherited acting. “
Many fans felt that Ranbir’s bearded look was similar to Yash’s look in Kannada blockbuster franchise KGF. One fan wrote, ‘KGF vibes have such Rocky brothers. However, several other fans wrote that Ranbir would go ahead of Yash in this look and make it his own.
The film, described as a period action drama film, will clearly see Ranbir playing a dual role as both the titular character and his son. The film also stars Ashutosh Rana, Saurabh Shukla and Ronit Roy. Shamshera is scheduled to release on July 22.
