Inventia Life Science and Biolamina partner to advance cell matrices for complex 3D cell models

24 August 2021 – Inventia Life Science, Biolamina AB, a Swedish biotechnology company leading in matrix biology and cell culture-based research, has entered into a partnership to supply 3D cell culture scaffolds, which include the RASTRUM™ platform Contains Human Recombinant Laminin Protein (Biolaminin®). In this partnership, Inventia Life Science will now offer Biolamina’s broad range of Biolamin® products, which will be incorporated into the existing library of RASTRUM™ matrices, reproducing key motifs found in native tissue of various cell types.

Laminin, an important protein found in the extracellular matrix (ECM) and microenvironment of cells and tissues, is generally required by cells for differentiation, migration and cellular adhesion. By incorporating laminin into in vitro cellular models, researchers are not only able to mimic the native ECM of various tissues, but also study the role of different laminin isoforms in disease progression and drug resistance mechanisms.
