IPL 2021: Corona’s shadow over IPL, this RCB veteran became infected

New Delhi The 14th season of the IPL is going to start on April 9, but just before Corona is also increasing rapidly. Players participating in the IPL are also under the grip of Corona, due to which the concern of BCCI is also increasing. Recently, Akshar Patel, who played for Delhi Capitals and Nitish Rana of Kolkata Knight Riders, has been found to be Corona positive. Now, Aarsibi opener Devdutt Padikkal has also got a corona, causing a big setback to team captain Virat Kohli.

According to a report, Devdutt Padikkal has moved to Quarantine after being found Kovid-19 positive. RCB is scheduled to play their first match on 9 April against defending champions Mumbai Indians. According to sources, Padikkal is expected to recover before the match against Mumbai.

Padikkal is counted among the big players of RCB. Earlier on Saturday, Akshar Patel was also reported to be infected with Corona. Devdutt Padikkal is the third player to be infected with Corona before the IPL.

At the same time, Padikkal showed great form in the IPL 2020. He scored a total of 473 runs in 15 IPL matches at an average of 31.53. Karnataka batsman Devdutt scored a total of 218 runs in 6 matches in the recently concluded Syed Mushtaq Ali Tea Trophy. During this time he averaged more than 43. In the Vijay Hazare Trophy, Padikkal scored 737 runs in seven matches at an average of 147.

As per the Kovid-19 protocol recovery implemented by the BCCI, Akshar will now be away from the field for 10 days and this means that he cannot play against Chennai Super Kings at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on 10 April.
