New Delhi: In the IPL, Sachin Tendulkar’s son and cricketer Arjun Tendulkar has been bought for 20 lakh rupees. People are talking about Arjun on social media. Arjun was the last cricketer to be selected at the IPL Auction 2021 in Chennai on Thursday. The all-rounder was bought by the defending champion Mumbai Indians at a mini-auction for 20 lakhs at his base price. However Arjun has reacted first after earning his first IPL contract.
Junior Tendulkar was with the MI team as a net bowler last season, where he was closely watched by head coach Mahela Jayawardhana and director of cricket operations Zaheer Khan. Arjun thanked the MI coaches, owners and support staff, calling himself a die hard fan of Mumbai Indians.
Arjun said in a video, “I have always been a die-hard fan of Mumbai Indians since childhood. I want to thank the coaches, owners and support staff. Mumbai Indians posted this video of them on their Twitter handle Arjun said, “I want to thank the coaches, the owners and the support staff for showing confidence in me.”
Mumbai Indians Director of Cricket Operations Zaheer Khan said on Thursday that all-rounder Arjun will need to prove himself in the upcoming edition of the league.
Zaheer said, I have spent a lot of time in the net, he is a hardworking kid, he is eager to learn. This is the exciting part. There will always be additional pressure to be the son of Sachin Tendulkar. Zaheer said, it is on him, with whom he has to live, the atmosphere of the team will help him.
He will be helped to become a good cricketer, how often a young player picks up at auction and everyone is talking about him. He has to prove himself and show everyone that he has the potential. In the players’ auction held on Thursday, defending champions Mumbai Indians also chose Nathan Culter Nile, Jimmy Neesham, Yudhveer Charak, Marco Janssen and Piyush Chawla.
