Israeli police and Palestinians clash in East Jerusalem

JERUSALEM ( Associated Press) — Israel police fired ammunition, tear gas and stun grenades during street clashes in Jerusalem with Palestinians in the most serious unrest in the disputed city in recent months.

Tension escalated in Israeli-held territory in East Jerusalem after a suspected Palestinian gunman shot and killed an Israeli soldier at a checkpoint at the entrance to the Shuhafat refugee camp.
