A giant comet with three times the size of Mount Everest It travels through space to Earth. . . and has horns.
The space rock is named 12P/Pons-Brooks and is classified as a cryovolcanic comet, also known as cold volcanic cometbecause it really exploded.
It was initially believed that the giant rock blast, or large chunks of rock, to be precise, would reach its closest point to Earth in April 21, 2024but it has been pushed back to June, when it is believed to have crashed into our orbit, reports say Daily Star.
First seen 200 years ago
Seen for the first time in 1812the beast has been on the radar of experts for months, and in addition to an exploding fireball, it has now grown to what can only be described as demon horns
This was the second time in four months that Pons-Brooks had experienced this, and when viewed through a telescope, it looked like a large set of horns had grown out of him.
It will be visible in 2024 and will not appear again until 2095.
Experts say that the stone can be like the size of Halley’s comet which was last seen with the naked eye almost 80 years ago.
12P/Pons-Brooks also has similarities to the famous comet, as it has an orbit of 71 years around the Sun, INDICATOR Daily Star.
It will be available in June 2024
It can be seen with the naked eye around the June 2, 2024, although it also appears at any time between May and the end of June next year.
It is currently located near the constellation Hercules (East-Northeast direction), at an altitude of 36 degrees above the horizon. The closer it gets to Earth, the more likely it is the comet continues to explode.
The pieces of the comet that exploded remain in space and Release them back in 2095, dice Daily Star.
However, it is not the most volatile comet in the solar system.
When it comes close to Earth, it will be about 144 million miles away, so the chances are it will have an impact on us. quite a bit.
