Peppers can earn up to $5 million in 2022, but as these deals are often structured, most of the earnings come through incentives. Here’s how the one-year deal breaks down…

base salary: $1.05 million (fully guaranteed)

Rees also said the Peppers would take a cap hit of $1.75 million. Apparently, this is made up of his salary, signing bonus, workout bonus, and seven-game roster bonus. The Peppers played only six games in 2021, which allows the Patriots to classify the rest of their roster bonuses and incentives as “unlikely to be earned” against the Caps.

Peppers, 26, is recovering from ACL surgery and is expected to be ready for the start of his training camp. he joins Malcolm Butler And Terence Mitchell As the Patriots’ third outside free-agent signing in the secondary.
