Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon and for many years the richest man on the planet, wanted a ship that would be able to travel the oceans without a single drop of fuel, generate its own electricity and give up no luxuries.

The ship was so large that the shipping company building it requested permission to destroy a historic bridge in the city of Rotterdam so that it could pass, an option that was denied after popular disapproval.

The Coru left Dutch waters in early April, arriving in Mallorca a week later, and now her owner is celebrating her maiden voyage.

The significant name chosen to name the lavish sailboat shows that Bezos has left nothing to chance in his new investment.

Koru is a Maori amulet that evokes personal growth, development, awakening of consciousness and the birth of a new life.

The ship has a huge swimming pool, all kinds of amenities on board, and is assisted by a crew ready to host up to 18 guests that she can host.

Its three masts can spread around 10,000 square meters of sail, which is capable of propelling the vessel at speeds in excess of 35 kilometers per hour and converts wind power into electricity to make the yacht nearly self-sufficient.

Sail alongside another support ship, which not only has its own heliport, but also a hangar that houses the tycoon’s personal helicopter.

That ship, called the Abona, stored several recreational boats, supplies, and emergency materials; This pleasure accommodates crew, has room for more guests and is more refined than many existing superyachts.
