Jennifer Aniston and Gabrielle Union among the stars in the Facts of Life special

Jennifer Aniston and Gabrielle Union join the roster of stars to appear in a live remake of Facts of Life for the December 7 ABC release of Live In Front Of The Studio.

The cast will join Ann Dowd, who will play Edna Garrett from the original series, and Allison Tolman and Katherine Hahn, who will play Natalie and Joe, respectively, reports Variety.

Aniston will play Blair and Union will play Tootie.

The upcoming 90-minute Sony Pictures Television special will re-create an episode of Diff’rent Strokes.

The previously announced cast for Diff’rent Strokes includes John Lithgow as Mr. Drummond, Kevin Hart as Arnold and Damon Wayans as Willis. Dowd will play Edna Garrett in both Various Strokes and the Facts of Life spin-off.

Jimmy Kimmel Announces All Lineup at “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” on Tuesday, noting that there will be “surprise appearances.” Kimmel, Kerry Washington and producer Norman Lear are among the executive producers of the special producer.

Next week’s special will mark the third installment of Live in Front of a Studio Audience, which received two Emmy Awards. The first two parts recreated episodes of Lear’s classics: “All in the Family” with his spin-off “Jeffersons” and another episode “All in the Family” with his spin-off “Good Times”.

Union shared her excitement for the upcoming release by writing on her Instagram Stories on Tuesday, “Can’t wait.”

Kimmel highlighted the cast of the live remake of Facts of Life in a statement to Variety, noting his obvious plans to hone his hairstyle skills.

“I can’t imagine a better group than Jennifer Aniston, Allison Tolman, Gabrielle Union, Katherine Hahn and Ann Dowd, and I can’t wait to get their hair done,” he said.
