Jennifer Lopez revealed how her “biggest dream” came true over the weekend, when her boyfriend – now fiancé – Ben Affleck got down on one knee and proposed to the singer for the second time.
“Did you ever wish that your biggest dream could come true?” The entertainer said in Tuesday’s edition of his newsletter, “On the JLo.”
“On Saturday night at my favorite place on earth (in the bubble bath), my beautiful love got down on one knee and proposed,” she explained.
“I was completely turned off and just stared at him smiling and crying while simultaneously trying to get my head around the fact that 20 years later it was all happening again, I was really speechless and he said, ‘Yeah it is?’ I said yes, yes, yes.
“I was smiling so big and tears rolling down my face, feeling incredibly happy and fulfilled,” the actor said.
“It wasn’t fancy at all, but it was the most romantic thing I could have ever imagined,” she continued. “Just one quiet Saturday night at home, two people promise to be there for each other forever. Two very lucky people. Who got a second chance for true love?
Lopez ended the note by citing her beautiful, green diamond ring. “Green has always been my lucky color and now, of course, it always will be,” she wrote.
Lopez announced her second engagement to Affleck via her newsletter over the weekend, after teasing that she had a “big announcement” on the way.
The actors famously dated from 2002 to 2004, with Affleck first popping the question with the pink diamond, before the two called off their marriage and eventually split.
The singer told People magazine in February that she was grateful the two had another chance at love and was “proud” to be with Affleck again.
The entertainer added, “I feel so happy and lucky to be in a relationship that is happy and loving.” “And I want to do whatever I can to protect it and keep it safe. It’s worth it, it really does. … We hold it sacred.”
