The city council cooperates in the Andalusian Championships of individual artistic gymnastics and by teams in the women’s, men’s, grassroots and track categories. The event will take place at the Palacio de Deportes of the Chapin Complex from Friday afternoon, tomorrow Saturday the 20th and Sunday the 21st inclusive, organized by the Andalusian Gymnastics Federation. 350 gymnasts representing 10 clubs will participate in it.
The Representative for Sport and Rural Affairs, Jesús Alba, has congratulated “the La Barca-Jerez Artistic Gymnastics Club for its effort throughout the year in working with the base and with the competing gymnasts”.
Likewise, Jesús Alba “thanks the Andalusian Gymnastics Federation for having once again chosen Jerez to host a competition of this level, as well as for its work and its constant collaboration with the city council for the promotion of gymnastics in its various modalities”. Events in our city that boost the economy by the presence of family members and participants who come to Jerez for sports competitions.
Nicolás Fresneda, Technical Secretary of Artistic Gymnastics of the Andalusian Gymnastics Federation, said that “it is a pleasure to return to Jerez with such an event with a reference club like Club La Barca-Jerez, which is also a national reference”. The Council has always been supportive of the sport” and confirmed the presence of clubs from Córdoba, Seville, Almería, the province of Cádiz, among other provinces. “It is a complex instrument due to the cost of equipment, sacrifices and training efforts, but with the support of the institutions and the courage of the clubs, as is the case here with the city council and the club, we keep growing”, commented Fresneda.
