The grandson of former President Jimmy Carter and former First Lady Rosalynn Carter, Jason, shared an update on his grandparents’ health, saying they remain together and in love even if they have health problems.

“They are, as we know, nearing the end,” Jason told USA TODAY. “He has been in palliative care for several months but they are happy. They are together. You are at home. They’re in love and I don’t think anyone gets more than that. “I mean, it’s a perfect situation for this moment in her life,” he added.
Former President Carter’s grandson also noted that despite his grandmother’s diagnosis, this moment was “a very joyful moment for her in many ways.” “They’re both doing as well as you can expect,” Jason Carter said.
Jason also told the outlet that his grandfather faces “really big physical challenges” but watches baseball games and sees his family “almost every day.”
Earlier this year, the Carter Center announced that former President Jimmy Carter would be entering hospice care. On the other hand, the Carter family announced in May that the former first lady had been diagnosed with dementia.
