Jimmy Fallon tried to “fill in the blanks” in Taylor Swift’s discography on “The Tonight Show” Thursday.
Fallon, who interviewed the “Red” singer ahead of her last album in 2021, tried to highlight a bit of Swift’s next release with The Roots frontman Black Thought, aka Tariq Trotter.
The host questioned whether both Swift’s “1989” and “Speak Now” recordings would be revealed on Friday.
Swift is remaking her first six albums after music manager Scooter Braun bought and sold the master recordings for her, an action she later criticized.
Black Thought later asked Fallon how he would know the answer to the “rumour”.
Fallon, who claimed “clues are everywhere” regarding the album’s release dates, before unearthing several signs scattered throughout Swift’s music videos and online merchant stores.
The host, who first glanced through the clues, asks Black Thought if he “follows up” with his rant.
“Yeah, no,” replied the frontman.

Fallon isn’t the only late-night host who loves the “Lovers” singer’s music.
“The Late Show” host Stephen Colbert asked Swift about the meaning of the song “Hey Stephen” from her album “Fearless” in 2021.
Colbert played a 2009 clip from “The Colbert Report” where he wondered whether Swift’s original version of “Hey Stephen” was about him.
Colbert said in 2021, “‘Hey Stephen’ should be about me, just like ‘Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds’ should be about Lucille Ball flying in an airplane with all her jewels.” “To believe anything else, you have to be high on acid.”
Colbert later asked Swift, who wrote the song for country music singer Stephen Barker Lyles, whether the song was about him.
“No,” Swift replied swiftly. “I mean, I first recorded that song in 2008, I think I was 18.”
“Yeah, I was a little too young,” Colbert joked.
