George Linares explodes against Lomachenko’s defeat: “He stole it; be careful with your watch and your wallet” May 21, 2023 at 12:40 pm.
Jorge Linares blasted against the decision of the judges, who saw Devin Haney win over Vassily Lomachenko, and agreed that the Ukrainian had been robbed.
“They robbed him (of Lomachenko),” Linares said in an interview for KO Artist Sports as he left the arena in Las Vegas. “Be careful with your wallet, with your watch, because my God. To be honest, I had Lomachenko ahead by two points, but you know, this is Vegas, Haney is young. It’s more business than boxing.”
Linares has already faced both. He is the only fighter capable of taking Lomachenko down, and the only one who had Devin Haney on the verge of a knockout.
The Venezuelan athlete doesn’t seem too enthused about the prospect of a rematch between Haney and Lomachenko.
Linares said, “If there is a rematch, we will probably see the same fight.” “Loma’s not the same. He’ll never be at the same level he was when he fought me. But I don’t know, boxing is more business and show than fighting. They all saw it.”
Which fight would be interesting at 135 pounds?
When asked if Devin Haney can beat Gervonta Davis, Linares is emphatic.
“No, it will never happen, because the tank is like a monster, a beast,” said Linares. “Haney is going to run and run and run. This is an easy fight for Gervonta Davis. You know what would be cool? Fight between Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney. Also Shakur and Honey will be good, they will sell a lot of tickets.
