30 September (WNN) — A Florida judge on Thursday declined to dismiss charges that confessed that school shooter Nicolas Cruz attacked a prison guard in 2018.
The battery case is separate from the allegations that led to the February 14, 2018 shooting at Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, in which 17 people were killed.
Broward County Circuit Judge Elizabeth Scherer denied the defense’s motion to dismiss the case and suppress video evidence based on allegations of breach of due process.
According to WPLG, Scherer said in his ruling, “There is no evidence in this case that anything done in this case in relation to the protection of the video was a major and deliberate act with the intention of prejudicing the defense.” The work was done.” TV in Miami.
Surveillance video shows Cruz extending his middle finger to Broward County Jail Guard Sergeant. Raymond Beltran before running on it. Beltran said he told Cruz to stop pulling on his sandals.

WSVN-TV in Miami reported that jury selection in the trial was due to begin on Monday.
Cruz’s murder trial for the mass shooting is due later this year.
