Julie Amy Rice

Julie Amy Rice, 53, of Ripley, NY, passed away on Tuesday, May 3, 2022.

Born on January 24, 1969, in Erie, Pa., she was the daughter of Mary (Hines) Hintenach and the late John Hintenach.

Julie was determined to make an impact on the world, and those who knew her saw her do it. In his office and quality manager roles, he achieved achievement after achievement, passing strict technical audits with zero findings. In the role of his local town board member, he successfully preserved the serenity of rural life. Seeking transparency along with the highest level of ethical standards, she remained focused on the health and safety of her community as she garnered the majority of votes to support those values. In his personal life, he helped millions of future cancer patients through the insights learned by medical science from his journey. Julie was an inspiration to many and provided hope to the lives she touched.

When we think of Julie, we think of laughter, of perseverance, of colorful blue birds and dragonflies in the sky, of beautiful blooming plants indoors and out, of outdoor adventures and Think about the love of hiking, and being the best. life. When we think of Julie, we smile and have a good thought in our hearts as we remember Julie’s strength of faith and favorite Bible verses encouraging her. She has made it through the journey of pancreatic cancer, which, if any, can be managed. She is known at the Mayo Clinic as “legend” Because he never ceases to amaze his team of doctors. And a special thanks to the medical team at UPMC Hamot who took Julie and her family and friends under their care for her final steps on earth. She traveled through life with beauty, dignity, faith and grace. She will be greatly missed by the people she touched in life. There is now another beautiful angel in heaven, who will be watching over all of us.

Julie is survived by her devoted husband and soul mate, Don Rice; her son, Alex Hintench; and his step-daughter, Katie Rice. He is also survived by his mother, Mary Hintenach; and two sisters: Maureen Tholen (husband, Kevin Tholen) and Martha Cole (husband, Drew Cole); Along with many other loving family and friends.

The family will receive friends at Kloecker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., 2502 Sassafras Street for the Celebration of Life, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. service time on Friday, May 13, 2022, and attend the funeral could. Mass on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Peace Church, 2401 West 38th Street. The funeral will take place at Trinity Cemetery.
