Juso wants to fight climate change with an inheritance tax

Initiative committee members present popular initiatives on the banks of the very dry Emme river near Burgdorf Bei on Wednesday.

In the half-dry riverbed of the Emme near Bergdorf bei, Jusso Schweize launched the popular initiative “For the Future” on Wednesday. Thanks to the introduction of the National Heritage Tax, this should provide enough money to fight climate change.

According to the initiative text published in the Federal Gazette, the federal government must collect a tax in the future “for the construction and maintenance of future life”. It is based on property and gifts from natural persons. The tax rate is 50 percent, but the tax is levied only from the allowance of 50 million.
