Karan Johar confirms Kartik Aaryan and Sara Ali Khan were a couple, says Koffee With Karan’s couch ‘reveals’ it

It was long rumored that Kartik Aaryan and Sara Ali Khan were in a relationship as they filmed Imtiaz Ali’s Love Aaj Kal, which was their only film together. Reports had claimed that the two had a breakup just before the release of the film. However, the actors never commented on it. Karan will soon be back with the seventh season of his popular talk show Koffee With Karan. It was during the last season of the show when Sara Ali Khan revealed Kartik as her crush. While promoting the upcoming season of the show, Karan mentioned in an interaction that his show had ‘revealed’ a lot of relationships and that included the names of Sara and Kartik.

Speaking to India Today, Karan said, “I call this couch the couch of expression. I was like saying to Kriti (Sanan) that day, I said just say one name! Because on this couch Katrina (Kaif) said that she thought she would look good with Vicky (Kaushal), then Vicky fell and then we know they are married. Sara (Ali Khan) mentions Kartik (Aryan) and they start dating. Alia (Bhatt) has been referring to Ranbir (Kapoor) season after season and today she is married to him and is going to have a beautiful child. So it’s fantastic that this couch has really revealed so many relationships.”

Sara had appeared in Koffee With Karan in 2018 and mentioned Kartik Aaryan’s name as an actor she found attractive. The two were later cast together in Love Aaj Kal and as per reports, this is where their romance blossomed. However, the actors parted ways in 2020. Since then, they have rarely spoken about each other in public.

In the last few months, Kartik and Sara have been seen in a cordial manner with each other at a few events. In April, a picture of them chatting at an awards show surfaced online. Then, last month, they posed together on the red carpet of another event.
