Kareena credits her father for turning the Kapoor family around
While talking to Indian Express, Kareena credited her father for this change. She said- ‘My father (Randhir Kapoor) is the best father in the world. He changed over time and encouraged me and my sister to pursue a career in films.

Kareena admitted that the decision was difficult for Karisma, as she was the first girl from the Kapoor family to decide to act. However, my father was never against Karishma or my acting. He always supported us.

Kareena further said- ‘Even now when he (Randhir Kapoor) calls me and comes to know that I am shooting, he advises me to concentrate on work. My father was a wonderful and open-minded person. He was always very nice to everyone. He was ahead of his time. He is also my friend and guide.

Talking about the tradition of Kapoor girls not working in the film industry, Kareena said- ‘Things were different in the 1970s, that time was very different.
