Tamil actor Meena’s husband Vidyasagar passed away on Monday. A friend of the family, actor Khushboo Sundar, in a tweet later clarified to people about the cause of his death.
Actor Khush Sundar, saddened by the demise of his friend and co-actor Meena’s husband Vidyasagar on Tuesday, clarified that he did not die due to COVID-19. However, she said that Sagar had tested positive for the virus three months back and it had damaged his lungs. He requested the media not to send wrong messages about his death. Vidyasagar died on Monday night at a private hospital in Chennai. Reportedly, he was suffering from a serious lung infection and was undergoing treatment for the past few months.
Mourning the loss of her close friend’s husband, Khushboo tweeted: “Wake up to a terrible news. Heartbroken to learn actor Meena’s husband Sagar is no more with us. He was battling lung disease for a long time. Heart goes out for Meena and her young daughter. Life is cruel. On the loss of words to express condolences. Deepest condolences to the family (sic),” she posted.
In another tweet, he clarified that Sagar did not die of Kovid. “I very humbly request the media to be a little responsible. Meena’s husband had Kovid 3 months ago. Kovid worsened the condition of his lungs. Please don’t send wrong message and don’t create any kind of fear or by saying that we have lost ocean to covid. Yes, we need to be cautious, but please,” she said.
Vidyasagar was a businessman living in Bangalore. In 2009, he married Meena and they have a daughter named Nainika.
Starting her career as a child artist, Meena went on to become one of the most sought after actors in the 90s and early 2000s. In his highly successful career, he worked with all the major stars of South Indian cinema. He was recently seen in the highly successful Drishyam franchise in Malayalam.
