The first image from the film to be released shows Oscar winner Leonardo DiCaprio and actress Lily Gladstone.
The film “Killers of the Flower Moon” hits theaters in the third week of October. Martin Scorsese’s new film is said to be one of the productions of the year. And as the release date approaches, Apple released the latest trailer for this harsh and intense film inspired by true events that will once again bring together Oscar winners Robert De Niro and Leonardo DiCaprio on the big screen.
After starring together in the 2015 short film The Audition, Scorsese reunites De Niro and DiCaprio in Killers on the Moon. Based on true events, the film takes viewers to the beginning of the 20th century, when oil brought great fortune to the people of the Osage Nation, making them the richest overnight.
What is “The Moon Killers” about?
The characters in the film will soon discover that this fate will bring them more misfortune and pain than good. This is already clear in the film’s trailer, which begins with DiCaprio in the role of Ernest Burkhart, a war hero who returns home with his uncle William Hale, to whom De Niro gives his face.

Everything will change when DiCaprio’s character, after falling in love with an Osage, becomes embroiled in a conspiracy hatched by his own uncle to seize the natives’ wealth. “The Osages are running out of time,” Hale tells his nephew, as the clip’s images show him willing to do anything to take over the natives’ wealth, including framing him for the murders of several members of the Osages Holding community responsible.
Hale will try to evade blame as FBI agent Tom White (Jesse Plemons) investigates the deaths of the Indian people. But the Osage, tired of being hunted like animals, plan to take revenge for the crimes committed against them by unleashing a bloody war with the Native Americans, putting Burckhart at a difficult crossroads.
“The Moon Killers,” which Scorsese directed and co-wrote with screenwriter Eric Roth, also stars Lily Gladstone, Tantoo Cardinal, John Lithgow, Brendan Fraser, Cara Jade Myers, JaNae Collins, Jillian Dion, William Belleau, Louis Cancelmi, Tatanka Means, Michael Abbot Jr., Pat Healy, Scott Shepard, Jason Isbell and Sturgill Simpson. The film was produced by Scorsese himself along with Dan Friedkin, Bradley Thomas and Daniel Lupi, while Leonardo DiCaprio, Rick Yorn, Adam Somner, Marianne Bower, Lisa Frechette, John Atwood, Shea Kammer and Niels Juul serve as executive producers of the film.
