Kings feast and Antetokounmpo comes back strong

The Kings hit 22 3-pointers and captured their third place in the Western Conference, defeating the Ja Morant-less Grizzlies in a spectacular test of strength.

The number of kings was extraordinary. Trey Lyles scored 24 points on 6-of-8 3-pointers, Barnes scored 20 on 6-of-9 3-pointers, and Murray made 20, 5-of-7 from the arc.

For a monumental 3-point performance, the Kings added a triple-double by Domantas Sabonis of fourteen points, ten rebounds and eleven assists.

Pistons 130 – Bucks 150

Five games later, the Bucks returned to their best version with the return of Giannis Antetokounmpo. Greeley scored 20 of his 29 points in the 49ers’ first period, a night in which Mike Budenholzer’s team was able to rely on Khris Middleton again after an 18-game absence.

Middleton scored eight points in only fifteen minutes on the track, and the Bucks finished third in the East (30–17) behind the Philadelphia 76ers and Boston Celtics.

Magic 113 – Celtics 98

Without Marcus Smart or Robert Williams, who were injured last Saturday’s trip to the Raptors, the Celtics snapped their streak of nine consecutive wins.

Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown contributed 26 points each, but the Magic, third from last in the East, prevailed under the 23 points of Italian Paolo Banchero, the first pick in the final draft.

Bulls 111 – Hawks 110

DeMar DeRozan led the Bulls to a win against the Hawks with 26 points and six assists, the third straight for his team, on the night he played his 1,000th NBA game.

The 33-year-old Californian, who won Olympic gold with the United States in Rio 2016, wore the jerseys of the Toronto Raptors (2009-2018) and San Antonio Spurs (2018-2021) before joining Chicago two seasons ago.

The Bulls are 10th in ‘play-in’ position in the Eastern Conference (22–24) and won against a direct opponent in their battle for a post-season spot.

Trail Blazers 147-127 Spurs

Damian Lillard moved into seventh place on the all-time triple-scorers table, surpassing Jason Terry’s 2,282 in the Blazers’ win over the Spurs.

Lillard scored seven 3-pointers and 37 points with 12 assists to revive the Blazers after three consecutive losses.

Jazz 120 – Hornets 102

Finn Lauri Markkanen led the way with a double-double of 25 points and eleven rebounds in the Jazz’s comfortable win at home against the Hornets in the East.

Without LaMelo Ball, the injured Hornets’ best was Terry Rozier, who had 23 points.

Rockets 119 – Timberwolves 114

The Rockets broke a thirteen-game losing streak against the Wolves, powered by a monumental performance by Jalen Green, with 42 points and six three-pointers.

The Texans, who could not count on Jabari Smith, overcame Anthony Edwards’ 31 points and Frenchman Rudy Gobert’s fifteen-point double-double and 16 rebounds.
