The Family Base Bonus is an economic benefit granted to households that are part of the Chile Seguridades y Oportunidades system.
The contribution is granted during a period of 24 months (two years) to help families and people in situations of extreme poverty.
What are the requirements?
Participating families from Chile Seguridades y Oportunidades receive the Family Base Bonus meet the following requirements:
- Participate in psychosocial support (APS) or socio-vocational support (ASL) in the Families, Abriendo Caminos, Calle or VÃnculos programs.
- They must have a monthly per capita income of less than $45,572 (according to CASEN 2009, in accordance with Decree No. 30 of the Ministry of Social Development, which implements the provisions of Law No. 20,595 on cash transfers and the protection bonus approved).
How do I apply?
There is no application for the Family Base Bonus as such delivered automatically to families who meet the conditions.
On the 15th of each month, compliance with these requirements will be verified to determine who is eligible for this bonus.
The amount of the Family Base Bonus is not fixed varies monthly depending on the family’s economic situation. For reference, the average payment in the first quarter of 2022 was $58,594.
The payment method is chosen by the family or person participating in Chile Seguridades y Oportunidades. In particular, payment can be made via the RUT account of State Bank or by personal payment at the mentioned bank branches or in The Hero Reward Box.
