On August 11, a mob of over 3000 people set fire to Congress MLA R Akhand Srinivas Murthy, his sister and DJ Halli and KG Halli police stations. The crowd was angry over the inflammatory post uploaded on social media by a relative of the MLA.
A person had filed a petition in the Karnataka High Court to get the matter investigated by the NIA, after which the National Investigation Agency started an inquiry into the matter. According to the NIA, the agency has 247 people charged has made.

They were seeking to spoil the communal harmony in the country and through it unrest in the country. ”
SDPI conspired to incite criminal and Hindu community

Under this, Feroz Pasha posted the video and audio clip on the afternoon of August 11. Feroze then tagged Naveen in the post, to which Naveen reacted against the Prophet in the same aggressive manner.
After seeing Naveen’s reply, Feroze approached the leaders of Muslim community and organizations to lodge a complaint against Naveen and pressurize the police and the government to take action. At night Feroz Pasha sent SDPI cadres and others to attack Naveen and Murthy’s houses as well as KG Halli and DG Halli police stations.
While responding to the charge sheet, Karnataka Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai said that it was a conspiracy by the SDPI and social media has become an easy tool for such organizations. Bommai told reporters, “These (social media) mentors are not only in India but also outside. I believe there will be justice. “
