The head of the Ministry of Labor, Rolando Castro, made an official visit to Canada to strengthen strategic alliances to promote the labor migration program so that more Salvadorans have safe and legal job opportunities.
Minister Castro confirmed on his official Twitter account, “For Canada, we will partner with businessmen to bring more job opportunities to our compatriots so that they can travel in a legal, safe and orderly manner.”
The Labor Ministry delegation led by the official aims to hold official meetings with businessmen and investors of that country in various fields of production or services, so that more compatriots can find good sources of employment.
The last group of workers left for the North American nation in mid-July. Requirements that people must meet to benefit from the program include being in good health, having a valid passport, without immigration violations, and without criminal and police records.
The Labor Migration Program seeks to promote Salvador labor inclusion through regular, orderly and safe migration to countries where employment opportunities are identified by the competent authorities.
The Ministry of Labor has made it clear that foreign companies must respect Salvador’s labor rights and provide equal conditions to citizens of those countries.
