It turns out that Lance Bass and Britney Spears not only share singing and dance talents – they are also the sixth cousins once filmed.
The family ties between the pop stars were revealed on Monday in the YouTube series “2 Lies & A Leaf,” created by genealogy website Ancestry. Appearing on a show with her husband Michael TurchinBass seemed elated when Ancestry’s research confirmed the (admittedly distant) connection.
“Look, I wanted to be related to the Queen. [of England], – said the star * NSYNC. “Well, now I’m related to the queen of pop.”
Although Spears spent most of her childhood in Kentwood, Louisiana, she was actually born in McComb, Mississippi, just 98 miles from Bass’s hometown of Laurel, Mississippi.

Elsewhere in his chat, Ancestry Bass said that he instantly felt a kinship with Spears that dates back to their early musical career in the late 1990s.
“I feel like she is my little sister and she has been my little cousin all this time,” he said. “For some reason, I always felt like we were like a family, even when we were kids. … She is like family to me, so the fact that we are related is amazing. “
Bass has praised Spears on numerous occasions in recent years, even as the singer’s “Toxic” litigation for her court-ordered guardianship has dominated news headlines around the world.
During his 2019 speech on Watch What Happens Live, he recalled that he confessed to her as gay in 2004, about two years before he did it publicly.
