After the story of the Ramírez family being evicted from their home by their own son went viral, Laura Santos, the property’s new owner, contacted Univision 21.
On September 1, Santos, her husband Francisco Álvarez, a friend of Ramírez’s son Maggie Jiménez and her lawyer Lance E. Armo appeared at the Univision 21 studios.
When asked how the ownership was transferred, Santos said: “Jesus came to talk to us or to me. He explained to me that he had a situation, namely that they had received restraining orders. They had problems with the neighbors, he couldn’t live in his house anymore.”
According to Fresno County Civil Court, Jesús, Ramírez’s son, has a restraining order filed by his neighbors on the property.
According to Santos, Jesús was at risk of losing the house because he defaulted on his payments.
Jesús’ girlfriend Maggie Jiménez told Univision 21 that the reasons were because he was sick and couldn’t work.
“He never wanted to sell the house, he bought it with so many sacrifices,” Jiménez said.
According to the Hispanic woman, Jesús tried to talk to his parents about finding another apartment, but they didn’t want to move. Since he owned the property, he therefore decided to sell it.
So you were asked if Jesus paid the mortgage payments for the last 20 years? And Santos replied: “Everything came from his bank, his account.”
“He paid for everything, they gave him money to pay for his insurance car, for PG&E, everyone lived there, everyone had to cooperate,” said Jiménez, who lives with Jesús.
Likewise, both women asserted that when they went to court for the eviction, the judge asked the Ramírezes for proof that they had paid for the property. However, they have proven nothing.
According to a real estate market data application, the value of the Ramirez property is approximately $430,000.
However, Fresno County Records Office documents indicate that no money was exchanged for the home and that Laura Santos is the sole owner.
When she asked Santos about Ramírez’s statements that Jesus gave her the house for free, she replied: “Those are lies, they are lies, and I didn’t have to explain anything to them because the deal was made with the owner of the house.” House.” House, the owner of the house was Jesus.”
When asked again how much he paid for the house, Santos declined to reveal the amount.
According to Ismael Ramírez, Jesús’ father, they paid for the house for more than 20 years, but when they used their son’s loan, the property was transferred to their name.
“The house is being renovated, it’s mine, it’s being renovated and I’m going to sell it,” Laura Santos told Univision 21.
