Latin American Innovation Laboratory for Social Partnerships in Health extends registration until January 31 – PAHO/WHO

Brasilia, January 17, 2023 – The deadline for registering experiences at the Latin American Innovation Laboratory for Social Participation Practices in Health has been extended until January 31. The extension of the deadline is aimed at disseminating the initiative to the World Social Forum 2023, which will be held in Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, between the 23rd and 28th of this month.

The Latin American Innovation Laboratory for Social Participatory Practices in Health is a technical collaboration activity developed in Brazil by the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO/WHO) and the National Health Council (CNS) with the support of the Center for Education and Popular Advisory. CEAP).

The initiative aims to recognize successful experiences of participation and social commitment in public policies and health practices. Registration should be done at https://apsredes.org/lis-cns.

Experience reports must be sent in Portuguese and Spanish using the electronic form available on the SUS Management Innovation Portal (https://apsredes.org/lis-cns/).

The accepted experiences will be registered in the “SUS Management Innovation Portal’s Mosaic of Experiences” (www.apsredes.org). From these, 20 innovative experiences will be selected, which will be divided into two themes: participation in public health policies and community involvement and commitment in social control and health practices.

Institutions and social movements, public and state organizations, educational and religious institutions and specific population groups, among other social actors operating in Latin American countries, may participate. But, it is essential that the experience is already functional.

Theme Description:
A – Participation and social control in public health policies:
A1 – Training and Sustainable Education for Social Participation
A2 – Monitoring and Monitoring of Public Policies and Health Indicators
A3 – Participatory Management of the Health System
A4 – Strengthening the links between teaching, research and social participation

B – Community involvement and commitment in health practices:
B1 – Popular Health Education, Community Mobilization, Situational Health Analysis from Participatory Approach;
B2 – Innovative collective actions that seek change in health and its social determinants;
B3 – Cultural elements and participatory experiences of health promotion and situational diagnosis, as well as the presence of participatory practices in health prevention and surveillance.
