“A few years after we came to the United States, in the 90s, with some friends on this boulevard, a man attacked us with a knife. They ran until two men overpowered the assailant. Why am I telling you this story? Because every time I think of Hollywood Boulevard, it’s what I think of. And the truth is that when I went home that night I said to myself: ‘What am I doing here? Nobody wants me to be here. They almost killed me today,” he lamented, and also recalled the attack in the movie theater: “Mexican, don’t sit in front of me.
