Expands portfolio of small, low-power FPGAs with first-in-class hardened USB FPGA for embedded vision and AI applications —
Lattice Semiconductor(NASDAQ: LSCC), a low-power programmable leader, today announced the Lattice CrossLinkU-NX family of FPGAs, the industry’s first FPGA with USB device functionality who are mixed with their class. CrossLinkU-NX FPGAs help accelerate USB-enabled system designs and simplify thermal management by combining a ruggedized USB controller and physical layer (PHY), a unique low-power standby mode, and a comprehensive design suite. Extending Lattice’s leadership in integrating integrated vision sensors with USB host interfaces, the CrossLinkU-NX FPGAs are designed to meet growing customer needs to simplify USB-based design for applications in computing, industry, automotive and consumption.
“Reducing power consumption, total cost of ownership and design footprint is critical to expanding the potential of AI and vision applications,” said Dan Mansur, vice president of product marketing at Lattice Semiconductor . “CrossLinkU-NX Lattice FPGAs are optimized to meet these demands by integrating our low-power, small-form factor leadership with a popular USB connectivity interface to help designers extend lifetime of the battery and simplify the design.” in the system.”
Built on the award-winning Lattice Nexus platform, key features and performance highlights of the new low-power Lattice CrossLinkU-NX FPGAs include:
- Vision Processing FPGA with USB
- With reinforced USB 2.0 up to 480 Mbps and USB 3.2 up to 5 Gbps
- Reduced total cost of ownership and footprint for discrete PHY components
- Reduces the FPGA fabric resources required for the USB device driver
- Low Power Standby with Always On (AON)
- Longer battery life and simplified thermal system management
- Optimizing power consumption in a typical embedded vision application
- Complete set of reference designs
- Provides a Lattice Propel template, host driver, and sample host utilities for USB-to-I/O and MIPI CSI-2-to-USB bridge applications to facilitate the implementation of USB devices on FPGAs.
