Tata Motors, the largest company in the Electric Vehicles segment, has launched an electric model of its popular Commercial Vehicle Ace (ACE). The company had launched this vehicle 17 years ago. In the Indian market, this vehicle is popularly known as ‘Chhota Hathi’. It has 70 per cent market share. It also comes in petrol, diesel and CNG variants. Now with the advent of Tata Ace EV, the company has strengthened its stake in all segments. Electric Ace is the best option for those who want to open their own loading business or food truck.
The Tata Ace EV will have a range of 154Km
Ace EV is Tata Motors’ first product with EVOGEN powertrain. It offers a certified range of 154Km on a single charge. It has a powerful battery pack of 21.3 kWh, which generates 36Bhp of power and 130Nm of peak torque. It has an advanced battery cooling system and regenerative braking system to extend the driving range. This cargo vehicle also supports fast charging. In terms of design, the Tata Ace Electric is very similar to its fossil fuel powered counterpart. However, it has been given dedicated EV branding.

You will get a 7-inch infotainment system
Speaking of features, it has a 7-inch infotainment system with Bluetooth connectivity. The instrument cluster and infotainment system are mounted on the center dash. It also has features like rear parking camera, tire pressure monitoring system. Tata Motors has also announced the signing of a memorandum with e-commerce companies and logistics service providers such as Amazon, Big Basket, City Link, DOT, Flipkart, LetsTransport, MoEVing and Yelo EV. This includes delivering 39,000 units of Ace EV.

Petrol, diesel and CNG models of Tata Ace
The Tata Motors Ace mini truck comes in petrol, CNG and diesel besides electric. At the moment, the company has not announced the price of this electric ‘little elephant’. Currently, the starting price of the existing Ace models is Rs 4 lakh. The top variant is priced at Rs 5.50 lakh. It is believed that the price of Ace EV can be close to 6 to 7 lakh rupees.
