Letter | Thanks to everyone who supports RISE Wisconsin

Dear Editor! We have all seen the good things that the Evjue Foundation has made possible in Dane County through strategic grantmaking over the years.

This year’s Evjue grant to support RISE Wisconsin and our newly renovated Fordham Avenue building will enable us to help our most vulnerable neighbors in a more supportive new environment.

This ongoing pandemic has been a test for all of us, and these stresses show no signs of abating. We have heard from our program participants that their anxiety, anxiety, isolation, and feelings of depression increased.

We and our partner agencies have been at the forefront throughout the COVID-19 crisis. We quickly transitioned to providing actionable services and support in the areas of education, employment, housing, and mental health. In Dane County, demand for services such as our Temporary Vacation Center, which offers much-needed shelter to families, was higher than ever. Through our combined efforts, we serve over 3,300 children, individuals and families every year.

We can better meet their growing needs by consolidating our programs and operations at our Fordham Avenue office, making us even more responsive and efficient. We feel thrilled when we update our facility to bring people from different programs together. These connections will inspire and motivate employees – and increase the good things we bring to children and families when they need it most.
