Lindor visits his mother and hits a home run with Metso.

NEW YORK ( Associated Press) — Francisco Lindor returned home after a surprise visit to his mother, who saw him play for the first time at Citi Field, during the New York Mets’ 10-4 win over the Marlins in Miami on Friday night.

Lindor’s wife, Katia, decided to surprise him by arranging a plane ride for mother Maria Serrano, who visited New York in January 2021 for the first time since the Yankees acquired the player from Cleveland.

Lindor met his mother in the news conference room a few hours before the first pitch.

The Puerto Rican pointed to the suites where his family was after hitting his three-run homer in the first innings of Pablo López (4-3).

Later, Lindor was hit by two pitches, one with a loaded base. The Mets, who were often penalized for hit-and-runs, took four wickets in this game, bringing their total for the season to 49, the most among the major leagues.

Carlos Carrasco (8–2) allowed three runs and eight hits in 6 1/3 innings, scoring seven runs a couple of times.

For the Marlins, Cuban Jorge Soler with 3-2 RBI. Venezuela’s Avicel García 4-2, Miguel Rojas 3-1, Willian Estudillo 2-0. Dominican Levin Diaz 3-1 with a run, Brian de la Cruz 4-1 with a run and an RBI.

For the Mets, Dominican starling Marte scored 4-0 with two runs and an RBI. Puerto Ricans Lindor scored 3–1 with two runs and four RBIs, Tomas Niedo 3–0. Venezuela’s Luis Guillorme scored 4-1 with one run.
